Before each thematic lecture, students are given a selected reading in relation to the theme of theories and urbanism. There are 4 synopsis in total. A reaction or response paper is to be produced by student through analyzing the text and develop commentary related to it. It requires thoughtful reading, research and writing. It should identify the key points highlighted in the text and then focus on student’s personal perspective on issues raised through the text. In addition to the personal perspective, experiences or insights that have shaped student’s perspective should also be identified.
