DESIGN STUDIO 2
PROJECT 1 : FAMOUS PEOPLE, FAMILIAR FACES
DIAGRAMMATIC ABSTRACTION
In a group of 5, we are required to select one of the following Master Architect listed and choose one of their famous building. We are also required to produce a complete set of architectural drawings (site plan, floor plans, sections, elevations scale 1:100) of the selected project (private residence) on A3 size tracing paper. Not only that, we also have to create diagrammatic models to express the architectural idea of the building. The aim is to investigate and to explore how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics.- solid, planes, lines and frames. My group members for this project consist of Renukka Raman, Ghaida Rashad, Shery Edrina and Afiqah Zahra. For this project, my group members and I have chosen Frank Gehry as our Master Architect and Gehry's Residence for the building.

REFLECTION
For this project, I have learnt to understand Gehry's concept of designing and his purpose intention of using different kindsof material to express different sense of feeling when looking at a building. Not only that, I also learnt to identify other master architects and their work and understand their architectural style in designing a building.
PROJECT 2(A) : PICNIC PAVILION
INTRODUCTION TO SITE ANALYSIS : EAGLE RANCH, PORT DICKSON
In a group of 2, we were required to select a client and to design a Picnic Pavilion for the purpose of eating and relaxing. It shall also include other activities such as meditation, observation, etc. in which furniture and equipment must fit and be incorporated into the design. For this project, I have teamed up with Ghaida Rashad and choose to select Carole King as our client. We were also required to createa site site analysis of the physical context on 1 piece of A3,A series of detail drawings (1:50 scale) as a set of a series of site plan, floor plans, sections, elevations, axon and perspectives, which must be done freehand and beautifully rendered. The final model must be beautifully crafted with balsa or model board or perspex or brown board, etc to be left in their natural colour and to be mounted on an A3 MDF board.

REFLECTION
In this project, I've learnt that communication and team work is important in order to commicate well on the design process and understanding in exploring the client's characteristic to achieve a picnic pavilion that suits the client.
PROJECT 2 (B) : RETREAT HOUSE
For this project, we were required to further develop our project 2a into a beach house at Port Dickson. This beach house must function as habitable architectural spaces to enable the activity associated with living, dining, showering, cooking, storage and such within the built up space of 150 m2.

REFLECTION
In this project, I've learnt how to extend the understanding of the design concept and process of the user. Next, this project also help meo have a better understanding of the architectural space making through the design of the client and architectural scheme.
