BUILDING CONSTRUCTION 1

PROJECT 1 : EXPERIENCING CONSTRUCTION

In a group of 8, we were required to pick a construction site and to introduce basic principles and procedures of construction process through real-life project. This project is also to give us experient in visiting a real site construction and understanding the sequence and coordination of construction at the site. My group members for this project consist of Adibah Awang, Hafizi Sidratul, Akmal Jamal, Valentine Hew, Shery Edrina, Afiqah Zahra and Azzam Aziz. For this project, we have picked a two storey bungalow located in a sub-urban area in Sepang.

REFLECTION

For this project, I've learnt to improved my skills in researching the constructin process and understand the construction elements and its components based on my site experience at the site. Moreover, I also learnt to understand the procedures of a construction process before turning into a house or a building. Not only that, I've also discovered a lot of importance element there is to have in a building and the pros and cons of using certain materials in constructing a building.

PROJECT 2 : CONSTRUCTION DETAILS AND SPECIFICATION

This project is related to our Project 2b in Design Studio where this is is an integrated project where it involves construction detailing solution for our Retreat House @ Port Dickson. This project also emphasized on the detail and specification of Steel and Timber.

REFLECTION

For this project, I've learnt how to select suitable structural elements to construct a house. I've also learnt to improved my skills in researching information on the construction detail. Not only that, I've also learnt to understand the specific and detailing of joinings used in parts of a building.
