BUILDING MATERIAL
PROJECT 1 : SPACE OUT - THE MATERIAL CUBE
For this project, we were required to construct two cubes by using paper and wood to explore and understand building making in relation to materials, design considerations of material according to their properties and to finally understand how the intrinsic forms, limitations and boundaries of a material factor in a design process. Not only that, we also have to design and build two separate paper and wood cube to define a volume of 12”x12”x12” inch space.

REFLECTION
In this project, I learnt how to recognize how intrinsic forms, limitations and boundaries of a material factor in a design process. Next, to effectively work with a material in line with design requirements and being able to express a material within its contextual application.
PROJECT 2 : MATERIALITY OF SPACE, "AN EXPERIENTIAL EXPLORATION”
In this project, we were asked to introduce various types of building materials that is being used in the current construction practice. The project is also to understand the physical and chemical properties of the building materials being used in existing buildings and spaces. This is also to expose the construction names/terminologies for materials in a space or building. So for Task A, we need to create 3 boards which consist of 1 mood board and 2 (A2 board) explaining the identification and application of the material used for the space in the building. Then for Task B, we have to create an individual board of the space chosen from our site building. Not only that, we were also asked to form a group of 5 members for Task A. My members consist of Patricia, Yvonne, Shun Qi, Shery and myself.

REFLECTION
In this project, I learnt to identify various types of building material used in building. Next, I also understand the effects of building materials on aesthetics and structural qualities of a space or building. Not only that, I also understand the application and installation of a material.
